After lecture today, you should be able to complete HW1. You can find it online (http://www.cse.ohio-state.edu/~heym/360/common/now/hw1.html ) as well as in the course pack.
Submit your lab and homework assignments electronically in ASCII text format (e.g., no Word documents) from Unix, using this command:
submit c360ax [hw | lab]n file.txt
where c360ax is a code, provided by your lecturer, for the section of CIS 360 that you are enrolled in. The code for Bair's section is c360aa and the code for Heym's section is c360ab.
and where [hw | lab]n is the name of the assignment, e.g., hw1, lab2, etc.
and where file.txt is the name of the file in the current directory where your assignment has been stored.
For example: submit c360ax hw1 hw1.txt
You'll get a message printed out telling you if it was successful, or what the problem was, as well as an email message as a receipt.
For the first homework, please try to turn it in early, as there are administrative things that can go wrong and they usually take a day or two to resolve:
1. You need a CIS Unix account. Make sure you and your instructor agree on what your CIS account login is. Your lecturer may have to update the appropriate configuration file.
2. You have to be able to login and submit the homework.
It never hurts to submit a homework or lab assignment early. Each subsequent submission completely replaces any earlier submission, and with a new date/time stamp. Therefore, it does hurt to resubmit after the due date/time because any record of your having submitted on time is erased.
Submit early and often.
For lab assignments, please name your source file, respectively: lab1.s lab2.s lab3.s lab4.s And submit only the source file. For example: submit c360ax lab1 lab1.s
Assignments are due by 11:59pm. Check the Course Schedule for specific dates.
No late assignments are accepted!
